George Santos skewers White House Correspondents’ Dinner fashion, gets revenge on media

It’s not personal. George Santos is just being honest…for once.

Long Island’s lying former rep got some payback against several media stars, giving his unvarnished critique of the gowns worn to the ritzy White House Correspondents’ Dinner on Saturday evening.

“Get ready as tonight I do my second annual White House Corespondent [sic] dinner fashion review! Y’all know I’m going to come for you so please spare me the tears,” Santos began on X.

Similar to his schtick last year, the former congressman, who has christened himself a “Culture commentator at large,” gave his hot takes on media fashion at the feted event.

“Every birds maid [sic] nightmare. This is just not in, or out… I’m just left speechless as to how bad the dress is and the accessorizing attempt was. What was @JujuChangABC thinking… please lay off the ‘vintage’…,” the fabulist said of Juju Chang.

“Did someone say PINK? I struggled with this one, but I established that it was a fail. MISS THANG here needed to have less and she went for MORE… Sorry but not sorry @kwelkernbc you clearly don’t use ‘less is more’ in your life,” Santos chided NBC’s Kristen Welker.

“Then there was the let down… you see last year I gave @sunny best dressed only for her to come in and bomb with this absolutely terrible look… it’s like she tripped in a Time Machine and took this dress from a old [sic] Spice Girls your closet. I had big expectations for Sunny…,” Santos declared of “The View’s” Sonny Hostin.

“Ahhhh @Alyssafarah… I mean not the type of structure we mean when we ask you to be more structured girl… the dress is simply not made for you… I don’t want to knock the dress because it’s redeemable, you just didn’t understand the assignment,” Santos said of “The View’s” Alyssa Farah.

But the former congressman wasn’t all negative. He managed to find a few outfits that met his lofty sartorial standards.

“So I must say this year it was hard to find good looks, but there were a few that understood the assignment and I’ll start off with miss CNN @abbydphillip. This was elegant, edgy and displayed the right amount of sass,” Santos said, praising CNN’s Abby Phillip.

“Another classic red carpet showstopper look came from this stunning beauty… look how Rachel Brosnahan delivered Fashion Week 2024 and she slayed the boots house down on this look,” the congressman said of the actress.

“After the blunder from 2023 Gale [sic] King comes out in a stunning gown that absolutely elevates her in a way NEVER seen before. This is pure class and elegance merged in one and I will concede she slayed!” Santos said of CBS’ Gayle King.

“Here is an example of someone who knows how to use the shape, figure and youth to play up a fabulous look like this. @SophiaBush this is just very clean and yet over all favorable [sic]. I love it!” Santos said of actress Sophia Bush.

“Sue me. I love the chuzpa!” Santos said of Sen. John Fetterman (D-Penn.), who ditched a traditional black-tie dinner attire and opted for a tuxedo hoodie instead.

Santos unleashed his blistering fashion opinions on the world in the late-night hours of Saturday into Sunday. Upon waking up, the former congressman realized he may have ruffled a few feathers.

“Apparently I got some people Mad about my commentary on their outfits… I woke up to angry text messages…,” Santos claimed.

“Here’s some advise [sic]… Ask your friends with a sense of fashion next time you decided [sic] to leave the house looking ridiculous. I’ll be here waiting to comment and guess why? Because I can.”

Santos was expelled from Congress last December and has since juggled various gigs and hobbies to occupy himself.

He is facing a 23-count federal indictment for allegedly defrauding donors and laundering campaign cash. Santos has denied wrongdoing.

Around the holiday season, Santos began selling personalized video messages on Cameo for $250 a pop.

Then, after crashing the State of the Union address in March, Santos announced plans to run for New York’s 1st Congressional District in a seat held by incumbent Rep. Nick LaLota (R-NY).

The move was widely seen as a reprisal against one of the most outspoken Republican members of the New York delegation to the House.

Santos announced last week that he was dropping his campaign as an independent against LaLota after failing to raise so much as a thin dime in his campaign’s first few weeks.
