EARLIER TONIGHT, THAT NUMBER WAS MORE THAN 1600 PEOPLE IN THE DARK RIGHT NOW, CREWS ARE WORKING TO GET THOSE LIGHTS AND THE POWER BACK ON. THIS IS A LOOK AT THE MIDAMERICAN ENERGY OUTAGE MAP. MidAmerican restores service after hundreds lose power in metro
More than 1,500 MidAmerican Energy customers were without power after a brief storm rolled through the metro Tuesday evening.According to MidAmerican’s website, the outage started around 7:45 p.m. in various locations around the metro, affecting roughly 1,508 customers. A representative for the company said they believe all of the major outages in the metro area were likely tree-related and caused by the storms that passed through.By 10:30 p.m., many of the outages were fixed, leaving less than 200 customers still without power. The representative told KCCI that MidAmerican expects to have every back on before midnight.
