Cleco announces significant progress in power restoration for Slidell

Cleco has announced more progress in the power restoration process on the Northshore. As of Friday morning, officials say at least 19,000 Cleco customers are in the dark. There are clusters of outages in St. Tammany Parish.Morning assessments by Cleco indicate that power will be restored to all Opelousas customers and at least half of the 7,000 remaining customers in Slidell by the end of day. Slidell customers on Lakeview Dr, Rats Nest Road, Carr Drive and West End Blvd. are expected to have power restored early Friday afternoon. “As the day goes on, we’ll have a better idea of restoration times for the remaining 3,500 customers in Slidell, but we do anticipate some customers will remain without power overnight,” said Clint Robichaux, director of distribution operations and reliability. “We understand the inconvenience to our customers. As Cleco employees, we not only work here in Louisiana but live here, too, and have also been impacted by storms.
