Jefferson Parish crews repairing broken water line in Waggaman


The Jefferson Parish Water Department is repairing a broken water line in Waggaman.In a Facebook post published Wednesday night around 7 p.m., officials said “Residents in the Waggaman and Avondale areas from Avondale Garden Rd. to River Birch Landfill and Hwy 90 to River Rd. may experience low water pressure during the repair.”A boil water advisory has not been issued at this time.Around 9 p.m., WDSU received calls from several angry residents stating they had no water at all. One caller said they weren’t notified, adding that a Facebook post is not a good means of communication since not everyone uses it.Scott Walker, Jefferson Parish Councilman At-Large, said crews are working as quickly as possible. The repair is expected to take several hours.
