Barton Gold (BGD) has completed a regional seismic program led by industry leader, HiSeis, at its Tarcoola gold project in South Australia.

More than 40 kilometres of geophones were strategically positioned along five lines spanning a 13-kilometre zone with the potential for replicating the historical high-grade gold mineralisation of the Perseverance Mine.

Barton utilised a combination of light and heavy-duty equipment to generate a signal captured by the geophones. The collected data will undergo analysis to create a more detailed sub-surface structure image within the company’s priority target area.

Barton Managing Director Alex Scanlon said Tarcoola’s 130-year history of shallow high-grade gold production had experienced little to no historical work to identify the sources and controls of mineralisation.

“This program continues our Research & Development driven strategy to build a completely new regional geological model, identify the most prospective structures, and then systematically drill test them,” he said.

“We look forward to the results of analysis later this year so that we can expedite priority drilling during the last quarter of 2023 and into 2024.”

BGD shares were up 2.22 per cent, trading at 23 cents at 10:46 am AEST.
