IT IS A MESS BEHIND YOU. JOSH: IT IS. PATIENCE IS RUNNING THIN FOR FOLKS WITH 5:00 A.M. FLIGHTS, 6:00 A.M. FLIGHT ON AMERICAN AIRLINES. THIS IS TERMINAL B, AND THERE ARE A LOT OF PEOPLE HERE. YOU CAN SEE THE LINES SNEAKING AROUND THE CORNER, ALSO CLOGGING A LOT OF THE WALKWAYS. WE HAVE NOT SEEN ANYTHINGLIKE THIS DURING THIS TIME OF T PANDEMIC. WHAT HAPPENED? IT SOUNDS LIKE THE COMPUTER SYSTEMS FAILED THIS MORNING. A COMPANY CALLED SABR, WHICH RUNS COMPUTER SYSTEMS FOR AMERICAN AIRLINES OPERATION AND ALSO FOR JETBLUE AND OTHER CARRIERS POTENTIALLY AROUND THE COUNTRY, THEY HAD TROUBLE WITH THAT. THE GOOD NEWS IS THEY ARE COMING BACK UP, SO THEY ARE ABLE TO GET PEOPLE ON THESE FLIGHTS. THE BAD NEWS IS THESE ARE ALL THE FOLKS WAITING ALL THIS TIME. THE KIOSKS HAD NOT BEEN WORKING, SO THEY COULD NOT CHECK IN THAT WAY, CERTAINLY A CHALLENGE FOR A LOT OF TRAVELERS, INCLUDING SOME WE SPOKE TO. >> THEY ARE TRYING TO CHECK IN THE PEOPLE WHO HAVE 5:00 A.M. AND 6:00 A.M. FLIGHTS NOW. THE KIOSKS DON’T WORK, SO THEY ARE CHECKING EVERYBODY IN MANUALLY. JOSH: WE HEARD AN ANNOUNCEMENT NOT TOO LONG AGO, FORTUNATELY FROM SOME OF THE FOLKS HERE, SAYING IF PEOPLE DID LOOK ONLINE, THEY CAN GET ONLINE NOW. THE SYSTEMS ARE BACK UP AND RUNNING, SO THEY CAN DO THEIR CHICKEN ON THEIR PHONE. FOR FOLKS WHO DO NOT DO THIS ONLINE, THEY ARE STILL GOING TO NEED TO CHECK IN MANUALLY. YOU CAN IMAGINE WITH THE NUMBER OF EMPLOYEES, IT IS A LOGISTICAL CHALLENGE. KIDS SCREAMING, TRYING TO HEAD TO DISNEY. THAT WILL HAPPEN AT SOME POINT TODAY, BUT NOT WHEN THEY WERE HOPING TO THIS MORNING. WE WILL KEEP THIS STORY POSTED THROUGHOUT THE DAY ON WCVB
