Boeing 737 Max 9 planes cleared for flight
Boeing 737 Max 9 planes will be allowed to fly again after the FAA completed its review of the blown Alaska Airlines door plug and gave inspection instructions to airlines.
What it means: Alaska said it will fly some of its 737 Max 9s after a thorough inspection starting tomorrow, while United Airlines said it would begin using its fleet on Sunday. [ABC News]
A big caveat: The FAA won’t allow Boeing to expand production on any new 737 Max series planes until it’s convinced the quality control issues it found are resolved. [New York Times]
Damage control: Boeing announced that it’s doing a quality “stand down” today at its Seattle facility, where 737 Max planes are produced, in order to retrain employees and recommend changes. [Reuters]

Nearly nine years after leaving The Daily Show, Jon Stewart is making a comeback. Comedy Central announced that the comedian will host the series again on Monday nights through the 2024 election. [Variety]

Russia accused Ukraine of shooting down a military transport plane that it said was carrying 65 Ukrainian prisoners of war. U.S. officials said they couldn’t confirm the reports. [AP]
🦏 Saving white rhinos
Researchers say they’ve achieved the first-ever IVF pregnancy for a northern white rhino, which could save the species from extinction. Only two female white rhinos currently exist in the world. [CBS News]
🏈 Harbaugh goes to Chargers
