Andhra Pradesh: Chandrababu Naidu’s Fears Irritating TDP Cadre!

Chandrababu's Fears Irritating TDP Cadre!

As the Assembly and Lok Sabha elections approach in Andhra Pradesh, the political landscape is intensifying with concerns about candidate selection.

Chief Minister YS Jagan has expedited the process by announcing Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) MLA candidates in 38 constituencies, while TDP leader Chandrababu remains cautious.

However, facing challenges in candidate selection, especially in light of the TDP’s alliance with Janasena, Chandrababu confronts dilemmas on seat allocation and Kapu community representation.

Kapu leaders like Harirama Jogayya insist on a substantial share of 50 to 60 seats for their community, a demand TDP leaders resist, suggesting a maximum of 25 to 30 seats for Janasena.

The fear of internal disputes and rebel candidates within TDP adds complexity to Chandrababu’s decision-making process. Thus, he contemplates delaying candidate announcements to manage discontent.

However, the TDP cadre is worried that this would disrupt the overall situation, as candidates won’t get time to campaign if the announcement is further delayed. They also mention that enduring the tension of uncertainty regarding ticket allocation even after Sankranthi would result in mental stress, implying slight irritation with CBN’s fears.

In contrast, YSRCP leaders can alleviate this stress by Sankranthi, as Jagan Mohan Reddy is releasing the final list by then.
