Young Aussie gives parents $130,000 cheque to pay off home loan for Christmas

A young Aussie has given his parents the ultimate Christmas gift, surprising them by paying off their mortgage.

Like most Aussie families yesterday, the family gathered around the tree and dragged an assortment of chairs into the living space to pass out presents and cards as the family dog roamed among the discarded wrapping paper.

It looked like your typical Aussie Queensland Christmas, with shorts and thongs being the unofficial uniform of the day.

The usual joy was disrupted when Oscar read his Christmas card out loud to his parents in front of the whole family.

Oscar explained that the older he gets, the more he “appreciates” everything his parents have done for him.

“Thank you for always supporting, encouraging, and praying for me. Thank you for showing me what it looks like to love Jesus and Pop thank you for showing us what it looks like to love mum and what it is to be a great father,” Oscar said.

He added that he was so “proud” to have them as his parents and said that he wants what they have.

“You’ll never understand the impact you’ve had on my life; us boys are so grateful for you,” he said.

Oscar’s mum Karon, touched by the message, replied: “Oh darling,” while his dad began unwrapping the present and guessed that it would be chocolates.

When he discovered it was a cheque for $130,000, enough to pay off their mortgage … he assumed it was a joke.

“That’s rubbish! That can’t be true. Is that serious?” He asked.

“It’s real,” Oscar confirmed.

Oscar’s confirmation made his dad Wayne immediately well up at the unbelievable news, and the dad passed the present on to Oscar’s mum, so she could see what had him so instantaneously emotional.

His mum burst into tears when she saw what her son had given them and looked stunned and overwhelmed.

She quickly got up from her chair and hugged her son as she cried.

“That’s the best Christmas gift,” she said through tears.

Meanwhile, Oscar’s dad joked that he’d have to cut back to working two days a week; once everyone had calmed down from the initial shock, he said the most Aussie dad thing ever.

“All right, let’s go to the beach,” he joked.

The whole family burst out laughing in response.

Oscar’s brother Hudson then took to Facebook to share the video of his parents receiving the life-changing gift.

“Oscar has always had an entrepreneurial streak inside of him, and today he got the pay off the rest of Mum and Dad’s home loan,” he wrote.

Hudson also explained that the present showed just how much his parents were admired by their kids.

“It’s a real credit to how beautiful and generous his heart is and how wonderful mum and dad have been to us as parents. A beautiful Christmas morning,” he shared.

The beautiful story touched family and friends on Facebook, who quickly shared the good news.

“This is so beautiful,” someone wrote.

“Thank you for sharing such a moving experience with us,” another praised.

“This is the most beautiful and funny thing I’ve seen today. All of your hearts are so generous that despite who was in that position, you’d all do the same thing,” one claimed.

‘This is incredible! Your parents should be so proud of the way they raised such an amazing group of men,” another cheered.
