Construction Begins On New Montecristo Cigar Bar In Las Vegas

Sin City is getting a posh new cigar bar. On Monday construction began on the Montecristo Cigar Bar at the Paris Las Vegas hotel, the hotel on the strip with the 46-story-tall replica of the Eiffel Tower.

Those who know the hotel (perhaps back in the days when it served as host to Cigar Aficionado’s Las Vegas Big Smokes) might remember Napoleon’s Lounge, located not far from the convention center. The new bar is going into that space, and will span 2,835 square feet of French-inspired décor with stone accents and a green color palette. The new Montecristo Cigar Bar will be able to seat more than 70 guests, and there will be an extensive cigar portfolio of more than 300 brands, not only those owned by Montecristo brand owner Tabacalera USA (such as Romeo y Julieta, H. Upmann and of course the namesake Montecristo) but also Padrón, La Flor Dominicana, Arturo Fuente and My Father, according to a statement sent to Cigar Aficionado today. The bar will also serve a wide selection of spirits and cocktails.

The bar is scheduled to open in the fall.

Montecristo Cigar Bar

“We are very excited to expand our relationship with Michael Frey and Caesars Entertainment to bring the Montecristo Cigar Bar to Paris Hotel in Las Vegas this fall,” says Javier Estades, president and CEO of Tabacalera USA. “Montecristo cigars are the epitome of luxury and now adult cigar aficionados will have two Montecristo Cigar Bars to enjoy them on the Las Vegas Strip.”

This will be the second Montecristo Cigar Bar in Las Vegas—the first is at Caesars Palace. Paris is one of 16 hotels in Nevada owned by Caesars Entertainment Inc.

“I am incredibly excited to expand the Montecristo Cigar Bar brand with Caesars Entertainment at Paris Las Vegas,” says Michael Frey, a partner in the venture with a long history of bringing cigars to Las Vegas.

“Montecristo is the gold standard of premium cigar lounges, and we look forward to bringing a brand our guests know and love to Paris Las Vegas,” says Jason Gregorec, senior vice president and general manager of Paris Las Vegas. He said the new cigar bar will add “another level of sophistication and class to our resort.”
