A Commerce Township man has been arraigned on a charge of open homicide in the death of his wife, a longtime Novi Community Schools employee.
Vincent Vuichard, 63, is accused of slaying Tatiana Vuichard, 59, at their condominium home in the 4100 block of Chesapeake Circle in Commerce. He was arraigned Thursday before Judge Robert Bondy of 52-1 District Court, where bond was denied.
According to the Oakland County Sheriff Medical Examiner’s Office, Tatiana Vuichard died from slashing wounds to the neck.
Sheriff’s deputies found her body on the bathroom floor of the home at around 10:45 a.m. Monday when they responded to a 911 call requesting a welfare check because she hadn’t shown up for work. Vincent Vuichard was arrested at the scene.
The Detroit News reported that Sgt. Shawn Werner of the sheriff’s department told 52-1 District Court Magistrate Andra Richardson on Wednesday that the body was wrapped in bloody plastic bags and rolled up in a comforter.
A deputy questioned Vincent Vuichard about scratches on his face, and he reportedly told a deputy that had “got into it with his wife the night before and she was gone,” the Detroit News reported.
Vincent Vuichard was arrested at the scene. His next court appearance is scheduled for June 2 for a probable cause conference.
Tatiana Vuichard worked as an administrative assistant for Novi Community Schools where she was employed for the past 30 years, the sheriff’s office said.
